Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Brazilian waxing and sugaring?

Waxing and sugaring are very similar methods of hair removal in that they both remove hair from the follicle. We use soft wax, applied with the direction of hair growth and removed with a strip. Our wax is esthetician-tested and approved for sensitive areas. Sugaring uses a natural sugar paste applied against the hair growth and removed in a flicking motion. Sugar is gentle on sensitive skin and avoids breaking hair, similar to hard wax.

How often should I return for Brazilian waxing or sugaring?

For regularity, we recommend Brazilian waxing every 4–6 weeks and sugaring every 3–5 weeks, as sugar can adhere to shorter hair.

How long should my hair be for waxing or sugaring?

Hair should be about ¼ inch long for waxing, but sugar can grab hair at a slightly shorter length.

Does Brazilian waxing or sugaring hurt?

While hair is removed from the root, it’s generally not as bad as people make it sound. The anticipation is often worse than the service itself. To minimize discomfort, avoid caffeine, alcohol, and smoking (vaping, cigarettes, marijuana) the day before and day of your appointment.

What should I do after my appointment?

Avoid saunas, hot tubs, and heavy sweating for at least 24 hours. Your skin is freshly exfoliated and more sensitive. Heat can inflame skin, so keep it clean and cool.

Will I get ingrown hairs? How can I prevent them?

Ingrown hairs depend on the individual. Regular hydration and exfoliation help prevent them. Since hair grows back as a fine point after waxing or sugaring, it can sometimes struggle to break through the skin.

Can I get waxed or sugared during my period?

Yes — any stage of your cycle is fine. Sensitivity may be slightly higher during menstruation, and fun fact: you can also be more sensitive when pregnant.

How much does Brazilian waxing and sugaring cost?

Our Brazilian sugar starts at $70 with junior estheticians, while Brazilian wax costs $60. We also offer a membership option for $58/month for consistent clients. Keep in mind these prices are subject to change at any time and are valid for vaginal waxing/sugaring only. We do offer sugaring for male parts as well.

What if I have sensitive skin? Which method is better?

Sugaring is always recommended for sensitive skin since it does not adhere to live layers of skin, providing a gentler experience while still delivering smooth, long-lasting results.

Is Brazilian waxing or sugaring safe? Are there risks?

Both methods are safe when performed by trained professionals.
Waxing: Small risk of skin lifting if skin is very thin or dehydrated, but our team minimizes this.
Sugaring & Waxing: Bruising is possible from movement or if skin isn’t held taut, commonly in the hip flexor area. Usually fades in a few days.
